The Vice-rectorate for Technology Transfer and Innovation announces that the 13th edition of the University of Cadiz Entrepreneurship Awards is now underway!
If you have an idea or a business project, atrÉBT! is your competition. We are looking for entrepreneurs who dare to present an innovative idea from a social, technological, humanistic or cultural point of view.
In this edition of atrÉBT!, although it continues to maintain its philosophy of supporting entrepreneurship and promoting the knowledge generated at the UCA, we have some small new features, with the creation of a runner-up prize for projects related to disability.
We maintain the distinction between ideas and projects of technology-based companies and those included in the HUMAN line (related to the humanities, cultural/creative industry and/or social, economic and legal sciences). Another new feature of this call is that there is only one deadline for both ideas and projects.
Another noteworthy feature is the prize money, with a total of almost 22,000 euros for this edition, including the first prizes for projects (3,000 euros that can be accumulated with the thematic prizes and/or sponsored runners-up prizes) and those related to innovation in the port sector, those driven by women, those related to the revitalisation of industrial sectors or those related to tourism promotion.

The deadline for submitting business ideas and projects is 15 February, so it is important to communicate your intention to participate as soon as possible. In the event that we detect that the deadlines are very tight, there is the possibility of extending them (especially for projects) although, for safety reasons, our recommendation is to comply with them.

I believe that this could be an opportunity to explore the technological and commercial viability of ideas that have arisen in the framework of Master’s theses (also TFGs), doctoral theses and research projects, so we particularly encourage young researchers in training to participate in the call together with their tutors or directors.
